The diagnosis
The groomer assesses the animal's needs, then selects the suitable concentrate.
In detail
The treatment begins with looking. Before any gesture, the groomer runs a hand through the coat and parts it to see what lies underneath: the density of the undercoat, the condition of the skin at the root, the presence of folds and what they hold.
Two directions emerge. A dull, dry or tangled coat, on medium to long hair, calls for Aura. Skin exposed to friction (wrinkled breeds, contact areas, tight folds) calls for Câline. One concentrate per session: combining them adds nothing.
The owner takes part in the choice. What they notice between grooming visits, how often the dog is bathed, how much time it spends outdoors: all things the groomer cannot see, and which guide the decision.
This observation takes two minutes and shapes everything that follows. It may also lead to calling it off: if the condition of the skin does not allow the treatment, the groomer refrains and refers the owner to a vet.
The care
Fifteen to twenty minutes, at the pressure of the concentrator, across the whole coat.
In detail
The dog stays in its grooming position. The groomer works five centimetres from the coat, the device delivering five litres of concentrated oxygen a minute.
The pass follows an order: the back and flanks first, then the belly and legs, and finally the sensitive areas: folds, armpits, base of the tail. The groomer may dwell where it seems useful, provided nothing is left out: excess in one spot never makes up for an area passed over.
The breath does the rest. It parts the layers of hair and lays the concentrate down to the root, including between the folds, where a hand does not easily reach. Allow ten to fifteen millilitres for a medium-sized dog.
The animal is watched throughout. If it becomes restless, the groomer stops, reassures it and resumes more gently: a few seconds are usually enough to get used to the breath. The session lasts fifteen to twenty minutes, depending on size and coat length.
No rinsing. The treatment air-dries, and the final brushing is done dry.
The reveal
The coat regains its shine and suppleness, and becomes easier to handle.
In detail
At the end of the session, the coat has regained its shine and suppleness, and the comb runs through without catching. On wrinkled breeds, the skin comes out clean and dry, with no moisture left in the contact areas.
How long it holds depends on the dog as much as on the treatment. A house companion will keep the effect longer than a dog that runs outdoors every day or swims in the sea. Hence the two rhythms: every two weeks for intensive care, once a month for upkeep.
From one session to the next, the groomer observes and adjusts, the same attention as on the first day, applied to a coat they now know.
For which coat?
The treatment suits every dog from six months.
Dull coat
Hair that has lost its shine, catches in the comb or tangles along the lengths. Common on medium to long coats, and at the end of winter. Aura restores shine and suppleness, and the coat becomes easy to work with again.
Wrinkled breeds
French bulldog, pug, shar-pei, English bulldog: their skin folds over itself and moisture lingers there. The breath carries Câline between the folds, where a hand reaches poorly, and the skin comes out clean and dry.
Moulting season
In spring and autumn the undercoat loosens and the coat clogs up. The treatment supports the brushing: dead hair comes away more easily and the coat regains its shape.
After swimming
Sea, pool, pond, back from a walk in the rain. Salt, chlorine and sand dull the hair and settle into the folds. One pass puts the coat back in order, to be repeated more often for dogs that swim regularly.
